CBS has ordered and additional six episodes to frosh sitcoms Man With a Plan and The Great Indoors, while giving three episodes to Code Black’s sophomore season.
Both sitcoms started a month after the broadcast season had already started due to Thursday Night Football, so a traditional back nine was not needed. Neither sitcom is a breakout hit, either, with Man With a Plan averaging a 1.5 in the 18-49, with The Great Indoors at a 1.7.
Code Black was never a breakout hit during its first season, finishing its first season with 18 episodes. The additional three will give its second season a total of 16.
