It looks like a familiar face will be a permanent fixture again on CBS’s Criminal Minds. Paget Brewster, who was a series regular from the second through seventh seasons, was slated to return as a guest star on the upcoming 12th season of the CBS series. However, after Thomas Gibson’s firing, it looks like the move will be permanent.
“We’re all so excited to have Paget with us full time,” said exec producer Erica Messer in a statement. “The BAU family has definitely missed her, on screen and off. Having her back on set has been great, it’s like she never left.”
Brewster came into the series in the second season after Lola Glaudini left early into the second season. Brewster then left towards the end of the sixth season during a contract dispute, only to return for the seventh. She left after that season and guest starred in seasons nine and 11.
Criminal Minds‘ 12th season debuts Wednesday, Sept. 28. Brewster’s first episode back airs Oct. 12.
