As to be expected, the first trailer for the anticipated Wonder Woman film was shown to the audience at Comic-Con. Shortly after, Warner Bros released the trailer online.
The release comes a day after Gal Gadot showed fans the first poster for the movie.
Here’s the synopsis for the film:
Wonder Woman hits movie theaters around the world next summer when Gal Gadot returns as the title character in the epic action adventure from director Patty Jenkins. Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.
Trailer Impression: For anyone who scoffed at the idea of a Wonder Woman movie, I like what I’m seeing here. While it still maintains the realism feel that’s been established in Man of Steel, Wonder Woman has a much different tone to it. It has a very stylish feel, and appears to be more of an emphasis on humor to lighten the tone. It’s not Marvel, people need to understand this. However, I like what I see here. I also notice, despite some darkened scenes, there’s more of an emphasis on color, especially with Wonder Woman’s outfit. While the colors are still muted, they seem to pop much more. And not to mention, watching Wonder Woman battle on such an epic scale is just plain awesome.
Wonder Woman is directed by Patty Jenkins (Monster) and stars Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, Lucy Davis as Etta Candy, and Robin Wright as General Antiope. It was written by Allan Heinberg and Geoff Johns.
Wonder Woman opens everywhere June 2nd, 2017.
