ABC passes on “S.H.I.E.L.D.” spinoff “Marvel’s Most Wanted”

.Most wantedVariety and The Hollywood Reporter are both reporting that ABC has decided to pass on Marvel’s Most Wanted.

Most Wanted was supposed to be an Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. spin-off pilot that would starred former agents and lovers Bobbi Morse/Mockingbird (Adrianne Palicki) and Lance Hunter (Nick Blood).  Both characters left S.H.I.E.L.D. in the Season 3 episode “Parting Shot.”

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. producers Jeffrey Bell and Paul Zbyszewski were the co-creators of Most Wanted, and co-wrote the pilot that was pitched to ABC.

The news of ABC passing on Most Wanted comes hours after the network announced it was cancelling Agent Carter after 2 seasons.

The loss of Agent Carter and Most Wanted leaves the network with S.H.I.E.L.D. as the lone network television entity in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Although it has not been confirmed by any major outlets, there’s still a chance that Most Wanted could be a potential Netflix series; the streaming service already has Daredevil and Jessica Jones as well as upcoming shows Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders, and a spin-off focusing on The Punisher.
