ABC has canceled Nashville after four seasons as well as rookie The Family. They have renewed The Catch and The Real O’Neal’s for a second season.
Nashville, starring Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere, hasn’t been a ratings hit for the network, but has spawned tons of merchandise and successful tours. The series looked like it was going to be renewed as talks continued overnight, but it seems like Lionsgate and ABC couldn’t make it work out for another season.
The Family, starring Joan Allen, was never a huge ratings hit for ABC, but had an uptick with DVR voters. The Catch wasn’t a huge hit either, but being part of Shondaland, it isn’t a huge surprise that it got renewed. The Real O’Neal’s have been a critical hit, and is one of few comedies to be renewed for a second season.
UPDATE: AMERICAN CRIME HAS BEEN RENEWED FOR A THIRD SEASON.
