Doris Roberts of “Everybody Loves Raymond” passes away at 90


Actress Doris Roberts passed away yesterday at the age of 90. Roberts, best known as Marie Barone on Everybody Loves Raymond, had appeared in dozens of TV shows and movies, most recently appearing in episodes of Melissa & Joey in 2014.

Roberts won four Emmy awards for her role as Marie, the tough mother to Ray Barone (Ray Romano) and the nemesis to Deborah (Patricia Heaton). Roberts guest starred as Mrs. Rinsky in a few episodes of Heaton’s follow up series The Middle.

Other memorable roles for Roberts included her starring turn in Remington Steele in the 80s portraying Mildred Krebs, her Emmy award winning guest spot on St. Elsewhere, and her turn as Mrs. Mircale in two Hallmark Original Movies.
