CBS reveals “Supergirl/Flash” Crossover Details

Supergirl FlashThe highly anticipated crossover between The CW’s The Flash and CBS’s Supergirl has been knowledge for quite sometime. On Wednesday, CBS finally released the episode’s synopsis and posted a promotional poster marking the event.

The episode will be called “World’s Finest,” a nod to the old DC Comics titles involving the first crossover between Superman and Batman. The poster itself is a tribute to the Superman vs The Flash Special from 1976.

Here’s the official description of the episode from CBS:

SUPERGIRL GAINS A NEW ALLY WHEN THE LIGHTNING-FAST SUPERHERO THE FLASH HELPS HER BATTLE LIVEWIRE AND SILVER BANSHEE, ON “SUPERGIRL,” MONDAY, MARCH 28.

Supergirl joins forces with a lightning-fast—and super dreamy—hero, The Flash (Grant Gustin), to take out two villains. Lost and confused after spiraling from his universe and landing in Kara’s, The Flash asks for her help in finding his way back home.

Excited to finally come face-to-face with one of the good guys, Kara agrees on one condition: The super-runner has to help her take down her ultra-competitive co-worker and screeching malefactor Siobhan, aka Silver Banshee, and Supergirl’s old nemesis, Livewire.

The description of the episode confirms the universe that Arrow and The Flash are set in is an entirely different universe than the one Supergirl is set in. The idea of multiple Earths has been explored during the current season of The Flash.

The timing of the episode fits in with another epic crossover for DC Comics – Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice releases Friday, March 25. It’ll be a good way to cap off a big weekend for Warner Brothers.
