It has been a big day for comic book movies. First, Zendaya was reported to join the new Spider-Man movie. Now, J.K. Simmons has signed on to play Commissioner Gordon in the new Justice League film, The Hollywood Reporter reports.
Simmons, best known in the comic book world as J. Jonah Jameson in Sam Raini’s Spider-Man films will take over the role most recently played by Gary Oldman in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy.
Filming for Justice League will start in mid-April with Part One being released on November 17th, 2017, with Part Two released on June 14th, 2019. To set the stage for those films is Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, bowing March 25th.
