It was a great start for The X-Files relaunch last night, as 13.5 million viewers and a 5.1 in the 18-49 demographics for the first half hour, as 16.19 million viewers and 6.1 in the 18-49 demographic tuned in for the first episode of the miniseries.
The X-Files originally debuted to 12 million viewers back in 1993 and finished its series run in 2002 with 13.3 million. The series reunites stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reprising their roles of Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. Mitch Pileggi also returns as Assistant Director Skinner.
Tonight is the second episode of the six part miniseries, and if the ratings stay this high, Fox has stated that they might continue the series again in the future.
