In a surprising move, Fox announced at their TCA conference today that they have renewed the Ryan Murphy series Scream Queens for a second season. It seems like the series will shift from the sorority setting of season one to a hospital in the second season.
“It’s going to take place in a hospital and explore some of the most interesting medical fascinomas,” said Fox boss Gary Newman. “This is something Ryan Murphy loves and had a lot of fun with on Nip/Tuck, and he, Brad and Ian are going to infuse that sensibility on Scream Queens. ”
It also seems like this might not be the last time we see Jamie Lee Curtis, Lea Michele or some of the other cast.
“Ryan definitely intends to bring some of the actors from the first installment back,” said Fox’s Dana Walden. “I believe they will be the same characters.”
Scream Queens wasn’t the breakout hit that Fox hoped for, averaging around 2.8 million viewers a week and a 1.1 in the important 18-49 demographic.
