A month after Marvel Entertainment released a minute and a half teaser trailer, the studio released a full length trailer, featuring a deeper look into the minds of Wilson Fisk(Vincent D’Onofrio), aka the Kingpin, and Matt Murdock/Daredevil (Charlie Cox). The 13-episode limited series also stars Deborah Ann Woll (True Blood) as Karen Page, Elden Hensen (The Mighty Ducks) as Foggy Nelson and Rosario Dawson (Sin City, Death Proof) as Claire Temple.
Unlike Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter, the Netflix exclusive series has a darker, grittier tone to it. The trailer also has a sense of realism, something missing in the 2003 film. The trailer also confirms that the series will take place within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with a reference to two members of the Avengers at the end of the trailer. As previously reported, Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Executive Vice President and Head of Television, said that Daredevil “does take place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s all connected. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that we would look up in the sky and see Iron Man.” However, just because Matt won’t be bailed out by other members of the Avengers, doesn’t mean we shouldn’t expect to see some sort of cameo, whether it’s Stan Lee or somebody connected with the upcoming Netflix series A.K.A. Jessica Jones.
Check out the trailer and be sure to check out Netflix when all 13-episodes go live on April 10th.
