ABC’s Agent Carter added a familiar face to it’s main cast.
Marvel Studios announced on their official site that Dominic Cooper (Howard Stark) will reprise his role in the upcoming series. Cooper starred as a young Howard Stark, Tony Stark’s father, in 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger and the Marvel One-Shot Agent Carter in a cameo appearance. The casting re-unites Cooper with star Hayley Atwell.
The series, consisting of eight episodes, will air in January 2015 during the season two winter hiatus of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Set in 1946, the end of the war has thrust Peggy Carter (Atwell) into a marginalized role as the soldiers of World War II return home. Working for the Strategic Scientific Reserve (SSR), Carter has to balance administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark. At the same time, Carter has to navigate life as a single woman after the apparent loss of Steve Rogers.
Agent Carter is created by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely (The Chronicles of Narnia, Captain America: The First Avenger, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Thor: The Dark World) also stars Chad Michael Murray (One Tree Hill, Freaky Friday) as SSR Agent Jack Thompson, Enver Gjokaj (Dollhouse) as SSR Agent Daniel Sousa, James D’Arcy (Secret Diary of a Call Girl, Cloud Atlas) as Edwin Jarvis, and Shea Whigham (Boardwalk Empire) as SSR Chief Roger Dooley.
