On Thursday, Marvel announced that Elden Henson, best known for his roles as Fulton Reed in The Mighty Ducks trilogy, Turk in Dumb & Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd, and Pollux in the upcoming two-parter The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, has been cast as Foggy Nelson for the upcoming 13-episode Netflix series Daredevil.

Foggy Nelson is the best friend of attorney Matt Murdock (aka Daredevil) as well as Matt’s law partner.

Marvel issued the following press release about the casting:

With a diverse body of acclaimed work, including the “Hunger Games” and “Mighty Ducks” franchises, Elden Henson will play Foggy Nelson, Matt Murdock’s best friend and legal partner. In a town full of crime and corruption, Foggy’s friendship to the community and passion for improving it have made him a friend to its many residents from all walks of life.

Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Television, had this to say of Henson:

“Elden plays one of the most important characters in the world of ‘Marvel’s Daredevil,’ and we’re thrilled to see Foggy Nelson brought to life by such an incredibly talented actor. He perfectly captures the heart and soul of this series, bringing an added resonance to Matt Murdock’s fight against the injustice in their great city.”

The role of Foggy Nelson was last played by actor/director Jon Favreau. Although his presence in the 2003 Daredevil film was limited, he had significantly more screen time in the Director’s Cut.

Henson joins Charlie Cox (Daredevil/Matt Murdock) and Vincent D’Onofrio (Wilson Fisk/Kingpin) and Rosario Dawson as known cast members of the series, set to air on Netflix next year.
