NBC’s “The Blacklist” gets full season pickup

While ABC canned their drama “Lucky 7“, NBC gave their hit new drama “The Blacklist” a full season pickup. The James Spader and Megan Boone thriller has easily won the 10PM hour on Monday nights following “The Voice”. Series is averaging a 3.3. in the important 18-49 demographic, and well over 11 million viewers a week.

“The Blacklist” also receives a huge DVR bump, adding another roughly 4.4 million viewers after the original airing. As none of NBC’s other new shows (“Sean Saves the World”, “The Michael J. Fox Show”, among others) are even cracking a 2.0 or above 8 million viewers, it seemed like a safe bet that this show would get renewed.

NBC might have jumped the gun a week or two early, but even if the show stabilizes around the 2.5 18-49 demo mark, the show will still be a success for the network.
