Legendary film critic Roger Ebert has passed away today at the age of 70. Ebert was the first film critic to win a Pulitzer Prize and to be awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Known for his show At the Movies with Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert (later Siskel and Ebert at the Movies) before teaming up with Richard Roeper, the show aired in various incarnations from 1982 through 2006 when Ebert started his battle with thyroid cancer, which resulted in the the removal of part of his jaw and losing his ability to speak.
On his final blog post, Ebert wrote, “So on this day of reflection I say again, thank you for going on this journey with me. I’ll see you at the movies.”
