John Corbett to Lead “NCIS: LA” spinoff and other casting news

Former Northern Exposure and United States of Tara star John Corbett has been tapped to frontline the new NCIS: Los Angeles spinoff, playing Roy Quaid, “a former NCIS Special Agent forced to retire from active service. While no longer an active agent, Roy is the most experienced investigator working for Red Team, a fact that’s not lost on any of the other agents.” Just as NCIS: Los Angeles first came onto the scene through an episode of NCIS, the new spinoff will appear in an NCIS: Los Angeles episode titled “Red”, due out later this spring.

Miguel Ferrer who has been recurring on NCIS: Los Angeles the past few seasons will be upgraded to a regular come season 5, and will also be a regular on the new spinoff, should it be ordered to series.

In other casting news…

  • David Denman (The Office) has been added to the cast of the Beverly Hills Cop series, joining Kevin Pollack who signed on yesterday.
  • Donal Logue (Grounded for Life, Life, Terriers) has joined the second season of BBC America’s hit drama Copper.
