Lifetime cancels “Drop Dead Diva” after four seasons

Reports have confirmed that drama Drop Dead Diva has been canceled by Lifetime after four seasons. The legal drama-comedy focused on Jane (Brooke Elliott), a plus sized lawyer who’s body is inhabited by Deb (Brooke D’Orsay) after Deb dies in a car accident.

The series has been a staple for Lifetime as its second longest running series behind Army WivesDrop Dead Diva was paired with Army Wives for its first few seasons until being paired with The Client List last season.

Sony, who produces the series is in talks with trying to shop the series to other networks, especially after the cliffhanger during the fourth season finale. The show also starred Margaret Cho, April Bowlby, Kate Levering, Jackson Hurst, Josh Stamberg, Lex Medlin, Carter MacIntyre, and Ben Feldman.
