The 33rd Razzie Award Nominations

It’s that time of year again, where the awards for the best (and worst) movies of 2012 are announced. One of the most entertaining awards is the Golden Raspberry Award, awarded in recognition of the worst films, directors, actors, and actresses in the last year. I personally have not seen any of the films on this list, nor do I plan to at any point in the future.

People who severely dislike the Twilight franchise (such as myself) shouldn’t be surprised that The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn-Part 2 was nominated for 11 Razzies. Hopefully Breaking Dawn-Part 2 will set the record for most Razzie wins, set last year by Adam Sandler’s comedy Jack & Jill (10 Wins).

To nobody’s surprise, Battleship was nominated 7 times. The fact they casted Rihanna to portray a U.S. Navy officer hurt my common sense, not to mention the trailers made it appear to be a Transformers rip off. Plus, I don’t remember alien invasions during my youth of playing the classic Battleship game.
