TNT cancels “Leverage”

TNT announced on Friday that the 5th Season Finale of Leverage would be its last. The network canceled the series after 5 seasons. The series finale will air on December 25th, 2012.

The series followed a group of Robin Hood thieves who steal from the rich and get even with greedy corporate and government officials who provide injustice to ordinary people. Leverage was produced by Dean Devlin and starred Timothy Hutton as Nathan Ford (“The Brains”), Gina Bellman as Sophie Deveraux (“The Grifter”), Aldis Hodge as Alec Hardison (“The Hacker”), Christian Kane as Eliot Spencer (“The Hitter”), and Beth Riesgraf as Parker (“The Thief”). The show filmed the majority of its episodes in Portland, Oregon.

Devlin, according to TV by the Numbers, stated that the showrunners had prepared the fifth season finale as a series finale just in case it wasn’t renewed. He posted a letter in regards to the show’s cancellation on LeverageFans.com.

Leverage ran for 5 seasons and 77 episodes from 2008-2012.
