CBS has made some obvious renewals and cancellations over the past 24 hours with a few small surprises. On the renewal side, Two and a Half Men was a no-brainer once the key cast resigned for another season.
CSI: NY was renewed for a ninth season while David Caruso’s CSI: Miami was not picked up for an eleventh. Although the latter CSI just reached a nice syndication deal with AMC, the show is more expensive to produce, with CBS deciding to just pick up one of the CSI spinoffs.
CBS has also canceled frosh series Unforgettable, A Gifted Man, NYC 22 and Rob. One of the last shows that needs word either way is veteran sitcom Rules of Engagement.
