Teams Cee Lo, X-Tina, Adam, and Blake will be back for the second season of NBC’s The Voice. It has been confirmed that all four judges (Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton) will again head up teams for NBC’s breakout singing competition.
Season one winner Javier Colon was crowned the winner, giving Team Adam the victory. The show garnered relatively good reviews from critics, and easily was a ratings champ for the Peacock network that has been struggling to find a hit the past few years. Pairing the show with America’s Got Talent also helped.
The only weak parts of The Voice were host Carson Daly, while nice, was very stiff and seemed uncomfortable in this format. Also weak was “The V-Room” (later named “Social Media Room” that was hosted by Alison Haislip. The social media room as a whole was weird. While it was great for the show to integrate Twitter and Facebook, the questions the contestants were asked consistently were awkward, as well as Haislip herself being a bit over the top.
All the coaches coming back is exciting for the show, as the chemistry between them seemed to be great from the beginning. The only weak link between them is Aguilera, who somehow always becomes the focus of anything she says.
