It is good news for one ABC show, while bad for another. ABC has renewed rookie comedy Happy Endings for next season, while they have officially canceled Brothers & Sisters after a five year run.
Happy Endings is by no means a ratings winner, but could pair well next year with The Middle if Better With You is canceled (which is the rumor of late).
Meanwhile, there had been hope that Brothers & Sisters would return for a shortened sixth season, but since many of the pilots tested well for ABC, the network felt that there was no room for the aging series. The season finale also worked decently as a series finale, but hopefully they’ll add some sort of wrap up for the DVD release.
