Brief: “Chaos” shelved by CBS with “Flashpoint” taking its place

It only took three weeks for Chaos to get shelved by CBS. The show began with a network battle for the rights to the series, but ratings have been horrible. The three episodes have averaged 5.98 million viewers and around a 1.0 in the 18-49 spot. While The Defenders did a bit better in the same timeslot, 8 PM on Fridays have been a tough sell for CBS for the past few years.

For the next few weeks CBS will air CSI: NY reruns in its place and will have new episodes of Flashpoint starting on May 6th. Flashpoint has been a solid performer for the network and should enjoy the same success once it returns.
