It seems like the 90’s flashback will never end. TVLand has renewed its hot comedy Hot in Cleveland for a third season consisting of 22-episodes. The comedy is still averaging around 2 million viewers for its second season, and with Betty White winning awards left and right, the show might be unstoppable.
Showtime has renewed its two new series Shameless that stars William H. Macy as well as the Matt LeBlanc comedy Episodes. The former series has become one of the highest rated programs for Showtime averaging over 1 million viewers per week. And while Episodes isn’t hitting a home run in the ratings category, critics love the show.
In a statement from Showtime’s Entertainment President David Nevins says, “The viewer loyalty and critical acclaim that has met both since their January debuts makes it clear that these two brash and sophisticated series are burgeoning hits. John Wells is carving out a tone that is truly unique in the television landscape — equal parts drama and comedy [for Shameless]. And Episodes marks the universally embraced and hilarious return to television of an inspired comedy triumvirate: Matt LeBlanc, and creators Jeffrey Klarik and David Crane. We are thrilled with the response to both series and eager to start planning for their second seasons.”
