Sony Pictures Entertainment has officially announced the DVD and Blu-ray editions of David Fincher’s film, The Social Network. Extras on the DVD will include a commentary with director David Fincher, and a second commentary with Writer Aaron Sorkin & The Cast.
The Blu-ray release will include the commentaries, along with a feature length documentary ("How Did They Ever Make a Movie of Facebook?"), featurettes ("Angus Wall, Kirk Baxter and Ren Klyce on Post", "Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross and David Fincher on the Score", "In the Hall of the Mountain King: Reznor’s First Draft", "Swarmatron", "Jeff Cronenweth and David Fincher on the Visuals"), and a Ruby Skye VIP Room: Multi-Angle Scene Breakdown feature.
Director David Fincher has always been an innovative and remarkable filmmaker, with this being possibly his best work since Se7en. The Social Network is the modern-day Citizen Kane and features some terrific performances and a fantastic score by Trent Reznor. The film is not simply about Facebook, but about the feeling of creating something new and the cost of building an empire. A+
The film will be released on January 11, 2011. Artwork is included below:
