America’s favorite dysfunctional family will be around for another year. FOX reports that The Simpsons will return for a 23rd season, during which time the series will have passed the 500 episode mark. The series is currently in its 22nd season, and ratings have held stable this year and continues to outperform a few of the other comedies in the Sunday block.
Just in case you’ve lived under a rock for the past 22 years, The Simpsons is an animated comedy that follows Homer and Marge, their three children Bart, Lisa and Maggie, and the rest of the residents in Springfield. The series has been the inspiration to the recent trend in adult animated comedies that include Family Guy, King of the Hill and others.
