NBC cancels “Undercovers”

J.J. Abrams has finally met his match. NBC today has canceled the spy drama from Abrams, Undercovers, as the series has performed drastically below expectations this fall. The final episode of the series will air on December 1st, leaving 3 episodes to be unaired as of now. The network has already renewed the rest of its new series, and many wondered how long it would be until Undercovers got the axe.

The series stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Boris Kodjoe as Samantha and Steven Bloom, retired CIA agents who are recruited back into the field after five years off the job. Undercovers has drawn negative reviews and has drawn negative comparisons to the other Abrams spy drama, Alias.
