CBS has ordered two additional episodes for comedies Rules of Engagement and How I Met Your Mother. Both shows will have 24 episodes now for the season, as each show has had decent ratings in the 8 PM hour on Mondays for the network. Ratings have gone up a bit from last year for Mother, and with the show being in its sixth season, is a good sign for renewal.
This is the first full season for Rules since season two, and ratings have held pretty constant with the numbers they aired last spring as well as compared to last year’s Accidentally on Purpose.
Similar orders are in the works for Two and a Half Men and The Big Bang Theory.
