Paramount Pictures have been searching for a female lead in the new Mission: Impossible film, alongside Tom Cruise and Jeremy Renner. The list of names included Kristen Kreuk, Paula Patton, and Lauren German.

Recent reports are currently saying that Paula Patton (Deja Vu, Mirrors) has won the part of a young operative who works with Cruise’s character. In addition to Cruise and Renner, she will join Ving Rhames and Simon Pegg.

As of today, there are no reports on what the film will be called, just that it won’t be called Mission: Impossible 4 and future installments will focus more on Renner’s character.

Personally, I think Paula Patton is a terrific choice. She’s beautiful and will be believable as an operative. So…boom
