Fall Predictions: “The Office” Season Seven (NBC)

Tonight, I will discuss the future of one of the funniest comedies on television, The Office. The series has been an NBC staple the past few years, however, big changes are to occur throughout this season.

Where We Left Off: After taking the fall for Sabre’s printers going on fire, Michael (Steve Carell) is promised that Holly (Amy Ryan) will make her way back to Dunder Mifflin. Also, Jim and Pam (John Krasinski and Jenna Fischer) are dealing with being newlyweds as well as new parents. Dwight (Rainn Wilson) and Ryan (BJ Novak) are trying to take down Sabre as well as take over Dunder Mifflin.

What Probably Will Happen: As we all know, Carell is leaving the series at the end of this season. We will find out who succeeds Michael, and my guess is actually Holly. I have a feeling she’ll return as Michael is leaving making it an awkward goodbye for Michael. However, many fans want Jim or Dwight as the new manager, with Ryan’s name being tossed around as well. But for my money, I would want someone outside of the current Dunder Mifflin clan to give the show much needed new blood and a fresh new start.

The series started showing its age last season, revolving too much on Jim and Pam and less about the office and Michael. This year, hopefully we see the hilarity that makes us laugh non-stop. I think many fans will want the series to end after Michael leaves, but if they do it right, I can see the show mustering around for a few more seasons.

The Office returns Thursday, September 23rd at 9:00 PM on NBC.
