There comes a time in every number one film’s life that it will fall from its throne. For Inception, this is that week. The new Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg action-comedy film The Other Guys brought in $13.2 million, followed by Step Up 3-D with $6.6 million. Inception comes in third with $5.5 million.

Last week’s number two film, Dinner for Schmucks, the new comedy starring Steve Carell and Paul Rudd dropped to fourth bringing in almost $3.4 million. And finally, Angelina Jolie’s film Salt ends the top five with $3 million.

This will be an interesting weekend at the box office as Inception could very well take number two, as the Step Up franchise starts off well on Friday, but simmers as the weekend progresses. Stay tuned for the final box office results on Monday.
