Being a summer hit has its perks. Freshmen drama Rookie Blue has been renewed by ABC for a second season after debuting to over 7 million viewers and holding steady in recent weeks. The series follows rookie cops in an unnamed (yet Canadian) town, and seeing them deal with everything on and off the job.
Series stars Missy Peregrym as the lead character Andy McNally with Gregory Smith, Charlotte Sullivan, Enuka Okuma, and Travis Nilme as the other rookie officers. The series follows the current trend of Canadian productions being split with American networks to save money on both sides. Flashpoint on CBS was the first to be very successful at this.
