“Hot in Cleveland” renewed for 2nd season

Betty White will be around for at least another year. Hot in Cleveland was renewed today for a 20-episode second season order that should start airing around January of 2011.

“We are so excited that ‘Hot in Cleveland’ was embraced by viewers in such a big way,” Larry W. Jones, President of TV Land stated.  “We absolutely love the show and can’t wait to see what hilarious new experiences these characters will encounter in the next 20 episodes.”

The show follows Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves, and Wendie Malick as three middle aged women who find that they are considered to be hot when their plane makes a sudden stop in Cleveland. They decide to stay there and give up their glamorous lives, renting a house from their cranky old landlord played by White.

The series debuted in June to huge ratings, and was also the first scripted series by TV Land. The first season is still currently airing, finishing its 10-episode order.
