Episode Title: “Reunion” (Season 4, Episode 11)
Original Airdate: May 10, 2010 at 8:30 PM
Synopsis: While Jeff (Patrick Warburton) accompanies Audrey (Megyn Price) to her class reunion, Russell (David Spade) tries to convince Adam (Oliver Hudson), Jennifer (Bianca Kajlich) and Timmy (Adhir Kalyan) that he can spend a night alone.
Review: This episode was probably the funniest of the season. Warburton is a gem as his character, Jeff, did a lot of physical humor in this episode. I also think the addition of the Timmy character this season was genius. While he was recurring last year, his added presence really gives Russell someone to work with. Their relationship, whether good or bad, shows that they are stuck together for better or worse. It really works well with the title of the series.
While the Adam and Jennifer characters were originally the focus of the series, they work well in their supporting roles in the series. Adam is great with his one liners, and Jennifer is even greater with her sarcastic remarks to Russell. The ensemble works perfect together, however, there aren’t any scenes with all six of them in the same room in this episode.
Rules of Engagement has been an underrated series for the past few years since CBS has decided to air it until midseason each of the last two years. The show consistently gets better ratings than How I Met Your Mother, and it would be a shame if CBS doesn’t pick up the series for at least one more year.
Final Grade – 9.5/10
