Conan O’Brien will be hitting your television sets a little earlier than his November debut on TBS. Per his contract with NBC he isn’t allowed on TV until May 1st, so he is wasting no time with being a guest on 60 Minutes on May 2nd. The topic of discussion is obvious, but for those of you living under a rock, it’ll be about his departure with NBC after a fifteen plus year relationship.
Also, reports have circulated that O’Brien will not be bringing back bandleader Max Weinberg to his new show in the fall. Claims have stated that there has been turmoil over the two that includes Weinberg’s frequent departures to tour with Bruce Springsteen.
O’Brien has been touring recently on his “Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television Tour” to sold out arenas and positive reviews across the nation. The 30-city tour started in Eugene, Oregon on April 12th and will conclude in Atlanta, Georgia on June 14.
The interview with O’Brien will be on 60 Minutes, on Sunday, May 2nd, at 7:00 PM on CBS. His new late night show will debut in November on TBS and will air Monday through Thursday at 11:00 PM.
