Two shows renewed for 2010-2011 season

Two very different series have been renewed for the upcoming television season. NBC announces today that they are picking up a second season of their drama series Parenthood. Series stars big name celebrities like Craig T. Nelson (The Proposal, The District, Coach), Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls), and Monica Potter (Boston Legal, Along Came a Spider). Although averaging only 7.8 million viewers this season, the show has been given many positive reviews and has brought in better ratings then the previous holder of the timeslot, The Jay Leno Show.

Also getting renewed is HBO’s off-beat comedy Curb Your Enthusiasm, starring Larry David (Seinfeld). This will be the eighth season for the series, making it the longest produced series for the network. What helped the series is the Seinfeld reunion the show used as a story arc for the seventh season.
