As you have noticed over the past few months, Kyal and I have been busy with school and our jobs and have sadly neglected World of Entertainment. That being said, we are pleased to welcome Joshua Friesen to our team. Mr. Friesen is currently writing for THE EASTERNER at Eastern Washington University. Kyal and I will continue to be posting on a more regular basis as well, to try and keep World of Entertainment a fun and enjoyable site for you to visit.

Brief: James Spader not staying on with “The Office”

It was announced today that James Spader will not return for NBC’s The Office next year, pending a renewal for the show’s ninth season. Executive Producer and star Paul Lieberstein stated, “James always wanted this to be a one year arc, and he now leaves us having created one of the most enigmatic and dynamic characters in television. He’s been a great friend to me and the show, helping us successfully transition into the post-Michael Scott years, and I’m grateful for that.”

Spader came onto the show during the “Search Committee” season seven finale, among many other big guest stars that tried to fill the void when Steve Carell left. The ratings so far for season eight have been down a bit, but Spader’s character of Robert California has been a strong presence of the show.

With Catherine Tate on the show now (who was also on during the “Committee” episode), maybe her character will transition into the lead next season.

2011 in review

Kyal and I want to personally thank all of you for visiting World of Entertainment in 2011. While we ended 2010 strong and started 2011 with a HUGE bang, the last half of the year has been trying on both of us. 2012 should bring new things and a renewed focus on the site. Happy 1 Year “World of Entertainment”!

I decided to wait until AFTER April Fool’s Day to officially kick off [Jared & Kyal's] World of Entertainment 1-Year Anniversary Month! It does not even seem like a year has gone by since Kyal and myself started this little site. What started off as 10 to 20 views per day soon led to a 350+ day in May and averaged around 85 views per day through the rest of 2010. Since the New Year started, however, we have doubled that ALREADY getting on average 170 views per day…all thanks to you!

We had 23,435 total views in 2010, and through April 1, 2011 we are already at 16,244 for the year. Since we have very little promotion and a $0 budget, this is all because of you. And to thank you we plan on introducing some new changes in the coming weeks and months to the site.

For starters, as you can tell we have dropped the “Jared & Kyal” out of our title and re-branded ourselves simply as “World of Entertainment”. While Kyal and I will continue to head the site, with work and college we have realized we will need help in the future, but be sure to know that every new staff member will follow our basic model: We will bring you the best and correct entertainment news the first time around and we will cut out all the filler the other sites have. While that might mean we only have 3-5 new articles a day compared to 20-30, you won’t have to sift through the junk to find the gold.
